Vinyl gloves are made of PVC. They are the least strong and offer the least protection compared to latex and nitrile. They are ideal for short term use. Vinyl gloves are cheaper than nitrile gloves. Vinyl is a good alternative to latex gloves in case of a latex allergy. Vinyl gloves are resistant to oil, grease and acids and bases.
Poly Gloves
Poly gloves are made from either low or high density polyethylene materials. These gloves are cost effective. They are also food service grade and latex-free. These gloves are good for frequent glove changes as they are the loosest fitting glove. Poly gloves can help maintain a hygienic environment that is free from food-borne illnesses when paired with consistent hand washing.
Latex Gloves
Latex gloves are made of natural rubber. They offer good protection against the transfer of bacteria and viruses. The advantage of latex gloves is that they feel comfortable and are flexible. Latex allergies are the biggest drawback of these gloves especially when it comes to food preparation. They also cannot be used in combination with oil and grease.
Nitrile Gloves
